United Arab Emirates has become a major muaythai hub in the middle east with Abu Dhabi been awarded the hosting rights of the 2020 IFMA World Championships
Over the last 3 years UAE has been doing exceptional grass-root development work to build for the future and the next generation. His Excellency Abdullah Al Neyadi President of the UAE muaythai federation stated: “No youth no future!” And therefore, building for the next generation not just in muaythai but in sport in general is key for UAE.
The last 5 days have seen the 2020 UAE Youth Championships selecting the team which will go to the IFMA Youth World Championships. Athletes in 29 different divisions came together to book their tickets to the youth world championships 2020.
Chair of IFMA Athletes Commission, Janice Lyn, stated that UAE is one of the role models for youth development work, while chair of IFMA Youth Commission Ms. Elisa Salinas stated that muaythai is the perfect example to display unity and diversity. 2019 was the year of tolerance in UAE which is very much in line with IFMA’s philosophy, understanding and respecting our differences towards a better world and nothing is more honourable than working for our youth and our children.
