One of the most anticipated bouts of Day 3 was between IFMA multiple champion (VIE) Bui Yen Ly and (THA) Ruchira Wongsriwo. Ruchira won gold at the SEA Games a few weeks ago and even it was the Wai Kru contest which gave her confidence in Abu Dhabi to challenge Bui who won gold at the same event but in Muaythai. Ruchira is advancing to the semifinal of the Asian Muaythai Championships while Bui could not add continental gold to her World’s medal.
Bui’s teammate (VIE) Huynh Hoang Phi compensated for her loss defeating one of the favourite for the Asian gold no other than (KAZ) Yelaman Sayassatov. It was one of the most exciting bouts of the day and the result made the Vietnamese supporters celebrate this victory long after the last bout closed on day 3.
The team rematch history was continued by (KAZ) Almaz Sarsembekov who had to return the winning mood for Kazakhstan against (THA) Natthawat Suzikong. Almaz truly showed that he is an IFMA top class athlete pulling the victory from the Thai. Almaz is in excellent shape and will now go towards the continental gold.
The hosts Zakaria Eljamari, (UAE) Mohammed Mardi and (UAE) Ilyass Hbibali again gave positive emotions to the local crowd winning their bouts and moving to the semifinal. Join us once again for the final bouts on Saturday as we go LIVE on the Olympic Channel, here in the heart of Abu Dhabi, UAE.
A great bout day 3 and spectacular fights in Abu Dhabi.
