Season’s Greetings and Happy holidays. We are looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year!!
We have just finished the last 2 Continental events, the Asian Championships in Abu Dhabi and South American Championships in Columbia. We must congratulate both organisers for their successful events.
We are pleased to announce that Abu Dhabi will be the host of the 2020 Senior World Championships. They have done outstanding job hosting the Asians and I am confident all our teams will be excited for the upcoming World Championships under the incredible hosting efforts of our UAE Muaythai Federation.
We also have decided to re-attribute the hosting rights of the 2020 Youth World Championships to Thailand. The reason being that our non-discrimination policy cannot be compromised, as we must always ensure that all our youth athletes have equal opportunity to shine regardless of their nationality.
Please note that the confirmed dates will be informed after the new year, for now, the dates will be close to those previously announced to members regarding the 2020 calendar:

2019 again been an amazing and busy year, with all key events a success; the Arafura Games in Australia, the SEA Games in the Philippines, European Championships in Belarus, World Martial Arts Masterships in South Korea, Senior World Championships in Bangkok, Youth World Championships in Turkey…
We are also very happy, as the doping figures for 2018 have been published and IFMA has seen a decrease of 20% positive cases from the previous year, which means that our education and intelligence testing have borne fruit, and we will continue protecting our clean athletes. Thank you to all the National Federations which have contributed to these efforts.
It is our pleasure to report that we have approved 7 new members this year with another 12 more applications in process. We are now looking forward to the many upcoming events under the Olympic umbrella; the 2020 Asian Beach Games in China, 2020 World University Championships in Kazakhstan, the 2021 Arafura Games in Australia, the 2021 World Games in the US, the 2021 Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Thailand, the 2021 World Combat Games in Kazakhstan and 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam. On top of this, of course we have our continental and world championships. A tight calendar, but also so many opportunities for our IFMA athletes.
On top, we have had 200+ professional events this year and we want to increase this number to 400+ mark in 2020.
We are also happy to report that more than 50 countries have strong social projects under the Sport Is Your Gang banner, and our BUYT project in Thailand has brought smiles to many children. In this spirit, IFMA will continue to protect and foster the Olympic values as the sole IOC recognised International federation for muaythai, and we all will work towards common goals that strive for Olympic humanity.
