Press Conference 2019 Asian Championships
It was full house at the official press conference jointly hosted by the UAE Muaythai Federation, The Abu Dhabi Sports Council and IFMA. Mr Tareq Al Muhairi, Championship Director welcomed all delegates on behalf of the UAE Muaythai Federation and its Chairman H.E. Abdullah Al Neyadi, citing that they were proud that the UAE and Abu Dhabi has been awarded the rights to host this historical event. He stated that the UAE is proud to welcome the athletes of Asia and a record number of participants. Also, that every athlete regardless from what Asian country, has been granted the visa to ensure that all athletes can live their dreams, united by sport.
The chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council Mr. Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi stated that Abu Dhabi was proud to host the important event of an IOC recognised sport and federation, especially as this is a qualification point event for the 2021 World Games.
The IFMA Secretary General thanked the host federation, especially its Chairman and Director, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the government of UAE for ensuring that every athlete, a total of 183 seniors and 120 youth is here, which speaks truly for UAE and the fact that athletes from 35 Asian countries participate at this event showcases the strength of Asia and the continued growth of muaythai.
