IFMA Approves New Members
Muaythai in Honduras, Uruguay, Kosovo and Nepal became provisionally recognised by IFMA at the Executive Board meeting in Bangkok.
The IFMA Director Ms. Charissa Tynan delivered the news to the Presidents of federations which was a long-anticipated email for Muaythai communities in four countries.
Muaythai in the American continent develops rapidly with an impressive work of the President of the Pan-American Muaythai Federation Ms. Elisa Salinas. The World Championships 2018 in Mexico gave a strong momentum in Pan America and many more countries may soon follow Honduras and Uruguay.
Nepal joined IFMA and Asian Muaythai Association which will allow many Nepalese athletes to qualify for the multisport games where Muaythai is in the programme.
Being the young country Kosovo makes impressive progress in sports. Muaythai is fully recognised by the Kosovo Olympic Committee and Ministry of Sport. Muaythai athletes from the Adriatic region will walk proudly at the flag parade this year and IFMA is looking forward to seeing Kosovo athletes at their first international event.
