The 2021 Arab Championships were held this weekend in Al Sulaymaniyah – Kurdistan, Iraq with 12 countries from the Arab regions participating in this important event.
The chairman was the Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Adnan Al Dirgal who made an emotional opening speech welcoming the athletes in these challenging times. He welcomed each and every country and congratulated Muaythai on the recognition from the IOC and with many big events coming up such as the World Championships in Thailand, the Indoor Asian Games, and the World Games in the USA highlighted that qualification for this event is key.
Three days of fantastic muaythai events with Iraq taking the overall first place much to the delight of the home crowd.
The National Olympic Committee of Iraq once again congratulated all the athletes which came together in the spirit of fair play and Iraq was proud to be the host of this important Arab Championships.
